Second clubhouse1072 viewsHelensburgh Golf Club's 'Tin Hut' clubhouse in its second position. The original clubhouse was built in 1894 just to the west of the Old Luss Road, but it was upgraded and moved in 1900 close to the West Highland Railway Line at East Abercromby Street. In 1909 it was acquired by Vale of Leven Golf Club and in that year the present clubhouse was opened.

It was designed by the celebrated golfer Willie Fernie who that day played Ben Sayers over the 18 holes. They carded 76 and 77 respectively. The salver was won by Mrs McKenzie at the club's golden jubilee celebrations, and at the centenary celebrations in 1984 she presented it to the club. The committee decided that it should be presented annually to someone who had given distinguished service to the club, on or off court.
