Hill House stencilA STENCILLING Workshop will be held at the Charles Rennie Mackintosh mansion Hill House in Helensburgh from 9.30-11.30am on Saturday August 26.

It will be conducted by Elizabeth Culshaw from The Lansdowne House of Stencils, who is an expert on Mackintosh stencils, and will cost £20.

With 24 years of professional stencilling experience, Elisabeth will help attendees to explore stencilling using Mackintosh-inspired stencils.

A National Trust for Scotland spokesman said: "Using acrylic paint on paper and fabric you will master flat and shaded stencilling before completing your own cushion cover in the Mackintosh Style for you to take home.

"If you would like to extend your visit and explore the property and view Mackintosh’s own stencilling throughout the Hill House, we can offer a concession entry of £7.50 to all participants.

"The Tearoom will be open serving freshly made sandwiches and delicious cakes — and do not forget to take a walk around the beautiful garden of the House and admire the view."

This taster session is suitable for all levels and lasts two hours, with all material included in the price.

Booking is essential and places can be reserve by phoning the Hill House on 01436-673900.
