David Clyde, the oldest of three siblings from a Helensburgh family who all became well known actors, played the butler in the 1943 film Princess O'Rourke, a comedy romance written and directed by Norman Krasna and starring Olivia de Havilland (left) as the princess and Charles Coburn (right) as her uncle. A pilot (Robert Cummings) falls in love with a woman he believes is intending to become a maid, little suspecting that she is actually a princess. It won an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay.
