Son of a Scottish theatrical producer/manager, he joined his siblings David and Jean on stage in childhood. He went to the States in the early 1920s to join producer Mack Sennett's roster of comedians. An expert at makeup, Clyde played a variety of roles, from city slickers to unshaven bums. He appeared as California, comic sidekick to western star William Boyd, in the Hopalong Cassidy westerns.

On another occasion she presented the Union Flag to the 1st Cove and Kilcreggan Guides, and it is the oldest in the County of Dunbartonshire and still used in parades. Helensburgh Upper engines1287 viewsBlack 5 class 45407 and Class K-1 62005 — both without their nameplates — at Helensburgh Upper Station on October 13 2007. The Black 5 class of locomotive was introduced in 1934 by the London Midland and Scottish Railway. The class K-1 locomotives were ordered by the London and North Eastern Railway but were delivered after nationalisation in 1948; they were a modification of the K-4 class which had been introduced in 1938 specifically for use on the West Highland Line.
