Rob Roy's Cave754 viewsThe entrance to Rob Roy's Cave on Loch Lomond, circa 1915. It is sited on the east bank near Inversnaid and was not so much a cave as a shelter provided by the fallen rocks. It is thought to have provided shelter for both Rob Roy and Robert the Bruce — the latter is said to have been saved from his pursuers when sleeping wild goats in front of the cave misled his enemies into believing it was empty. Rob Roy was for a time Laird of Craigrostan and Inversnaid.Feb 15, 2009
