The Comet replica
The 150th anniversary of Henry Bell's Comet was celebrated on September 18 1962 when a replica of the Comet arrived at Helensburgh Pier from Port Glasgow as part of a special regatta. Construction of the working replica was sponsored by Sir William Lithgow, and it is now on permanent display in Port Glasgow town centre.
