Art collector Jim Smith from Blantyre owns the 24 x 18s ins charcoal and crayon drawing, and would love to know who the young lady subject was.

Baird Telechrome Tube874 viewsJohn Logie Baird is pictured demonstrating the Telechrome Tube, one of his last inventions, to the press on August 16 1944. The tube contained two cathode-ray beams, each scanning opposite sides of a clear mica disc. On side had a blue-green fluorescent coating and the other orange-red. It was the world's first colour television picture tube, and only one survives today in the National Media Museum.
