Helensburgh 18301035 viewsThis antique steel plate engraving on fine paper measures 6 x 9 inches and shows children playing on the burgh shore to the east of the Baths (later Queen's) Hotel. It was drawn by John Fleming, engraved by Joseph Swan and published by Joseph Swan in 1830 for ‘Select Views on the River Clyde’ by John M.Leighton.

Tracks cleared1034 viewsOn Wednesday February 28 2018 an exceptionally severe blizzard hit much of Scotland and rail services were suspended. The following day a class 37 diesel locomotive with a snowplough was sent from Fort William to Bathgate and then back to Helensburgh to clear the tracks. It reached Helensburgh Central Station on the morning of Friday 2nd March, but passenger services from Helensburgh did not resume until the Sunday morning. Photo by Darrel Hendrie.
